Dr. Samson has performed thousands of liposuction, breast lift, breast augmentation, and tummy tuck surgeries over his 18 year career as a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Here’s a few things to consider about having a Mommy Makeover Surgery with Dr. Samson, a Board Certified Port Orange Plastic Surgeon.

Even with a vigorous workout schedule and dedicated dieting, regaining your pre-baby body can be an elusive challenge. It’s not just the weight gain — pregnancy can result in many drastic changes to your body. If you’re struggling to get back in pre-baby shape, a ‘mommy makeover’ will give your body the boost it needs. Here are five things you might be surprised to know:

 1. Liposuction recovery time is probably shorter than you think (good news if this is one of your biggest concerns!)

You’ve dieted. You’ve exercised. But despite your best efforts, some stubborn weight remains in a few places. Liposuction offers a noninvasive solution for sculpting those areas you can’t seem to target through diet and exercise alone. For most people, recovery time for liposuction treatment is just a couple of days with a little soreness for the following week or two — critical for a busy mom who’s schedule doesn’t allow for much downtime.

2. Stretch marks can be removed with a tummy tuck procedure

Pregnancies often result in more than just stubborn fat accumulation — excess skin can also appear, particularly on the abdomen. While liposuction only removes fat, a tummy tuck will tighten the skin and can also restore weakened abdominal muscles. Many women develop stretch marks around their midsections during pregnancy. As long as they appear on the skin being removed, tummy tuck patients can say goodbye to those unwanted marks.

3. You can “try on” breast implant sizes before you decide

Whether you chose to breastfeed or not, many mothers experience changes in their breasts following pregnancies. Or, maybe now that you’re done having children, you’re ready to make changes to your bust that you’ve been thinking about for years. Before deciding on a breast augmentation, make sure to view before and after photos to get a sense of what size and placement you feel is right for you. Your surgeon will also discuss all the techniques and options available, as well as help you try on breast implants of different sizes.

 4. Thigh lifts offer long-lasting improvements

There are a number of reasons you might consider a thigh lift as part of your mommy makeover. A lift can remove loose or sagging skin, banish unflattering fat deposits and can even improve cellulite. The best candidates for thigh lift procedures are women who have reached a stable post-pregnancy weight. Recovery time for thigh lifts vary, but most patients are able to return to work in 2-3 weeks. The results are long-lasting, and in many cases, permanent.

5. You can combine procedures, and get fantastic results

Many women looking to regain or improve their bodies post-pregnancy opt to combine two or more procedures. For example, liposuction is often combined with a upper arm lift, which results in a more contoured, athletic look. Liposuction can also be combined with a tummy tuck, or a thigh lift, for optimal results. If you’re unsure, spend some time viewing before and after galleries, or read stories of our patient’s who have gone through the procedures themselves.
