Natural Facelift

Question

I’m 46 with just a tiny touch of jowling and sagging chin. I’d like to be proactive and get a facelift in the next year or two, but I want it to be incredibly natural. Happy to do fat grafting, etc as need be. There are so many plastic surgeons in the world, some more high profile and some more low key. How on earth do I figure out who is going to make me look natural vs a wind tunnel?

Natural Facelift

Answer

It is most important to communicate your desires for a natural look at the time of your consultation with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and have a discussion about your various options, what can be done, and have all your questions answered without feeling rushed.  Education and information is the key to making good decisions in plastic surgery.

Breast Implant Massaging Question

When do I start massaging and what massaging is recommended? I have 455cc under muscle high profile implants.

Breast Implant Massaging

Answer

There are a lot of different opinions on when, and how, or even if, to perform massage after breast augmentation surgery.  We generally do recommend massage beginning a week after surgery, with smooth round gel implants.  I do believe it can make a difference with final implant shape and feel, therefore the technique will depend on the time after surgery and the goals of the massage (e.g. getting one or both breasts to drop, or preventing capsular contracture).

Breast Augmentation  – Which Shape Will Suit Me Better?

Question

I like the shape of my breasts and the way they look, I just want to correct the asymmetry and make them a little bigger so they look good accordingly with my torso. Since I would like to keep the shape they have, which type of implant will suit me better? Round or teardrop? Also, how is the difference in price between those to types of implants? I want to get a natural result.

Breast Augmentation  – Which Shape Will Suit Me Better?

Answer

In your specific case, I would recommend a smooth round silicone gel implant, such as the Natrelle Inspira.  Anatomical (shaped) implants do not provide enhanced outcomes in primary augmentation, with a few special exceptions; however, they are much more expensive and can have problems due to rotation in the pocket, which can yield a deformity.  As your Plastic Surgeon, I would examine and measure your soft tissue characteristics, and discuss your concerns and goals in detail, to help you get the results you desire.
